The globe’s leading STM (Scientific, Technical, and Medical) publishers, Nova Science Publishers, have recently posted a handful of upcoming releases already exciting industry professionals and scholars alike. From a deep dive into sarcoidosis to a comprehensive look at the downward spiral of journalistic credibility, Nova Science Publishers has, yet again, given the STM world something to look forward to.

Discover more about these upcoming publications in the subsequent sections.

A Clinical Manual of Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis causes small patches of swollen, red tissue, known as granulomas, to form in the organs. Typically, the condition affects the skin and lungs, resulting in a persistent cough, shortness of breath, and tender bumps on the skin.

Since its initial discovery in 1877, sarcoidosis has been deemed a rare condition. However, further research into the condition shows it’s relatively common, with the lifetime risk being 2.5% for African Americans and around 1% for Caucasians.

Despite the conclusive evidence, the condition is still elusive and often difficult to treat. As a result, pulmonologists worldwide are subject to dealing with multisystem sarcoidosis with limited resources.

Therefore, experienced pulmonologists developed this handbook to help medical professionals deal with organ-based manifestations of the condition. It’s said to “bridge the gap between detailed monographs and short reviews on sarcoidosis.”

Edited by Shambhua Aryal, MD, and Vikas Pathak, MD, the clinical handbook is set to be published in April 2022.

The Handbook of Neuromodulation

Neuromodulation is the alteration of nerve activity triggered by electrical or pharmaceutical agents delivered to a target area.

The treatment is incredibly effective and has changed the lives of many. It has the ability to treat an array of diseases and symptoms, from urinary incontinence to headaches to spinal cord injuries to tremors.

The popularity of neuromodulation has inspired many professionals to write and publish books on the topic. However, The Handbook of Neuromodulation goes further than others on the market.

There are seemingly countless neuromodulation therapies, meaning many published works cover only a few. Nova Science Publishers’ upcoming release, however, contains information on all current and future treatments.

Its detailed insight into neuromodulation, including surgical and medical management, will be beneficial to budding neurosurgeons, neuromodulation specialists, and neurologists. The handbook’s 43 chapters were written by global field leaders, ensuring professionals around the world receive accurate, heavily researched, up-to-date information.

Currently in production, the publication date is set to be May 2022.

Loaded Language and the Dilemma of Journalism

Last but certainly not least, Alexandra Kitty’s Loaded Language and the Dilemma of Journalism is an intriguing addition to the languages and linguistics field.

The book acknowledges the noticeable professional credibility collapse in journalism due to loaded language. But rightly counters that journalists have the tools at their disposal to prevent the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda.

This conclusive book takes the reader on a journey through the emotional and analytical factors of words and how they affect their audiences.

This book will be released in March 2022.
